Ibrahim Saad Can Continue As OCM Vice President

KUALA LUMPUR, July 24 (Bernama) -- Footballl Assocation of Malaysia (FAM) secretary general Datuk Seri Dr Ibrahim Saad, who will relinquish the post on Aug 15, can continue to carry out his duties as Olympic Council of Malaysia (OCM) vice president.

OCM honorary secretary Datuk Sieh Kok Chi said it was up to Ibrahim whether to step down or retain his position in the council."The OCM constitution is quite flexible. Only at the nomination stage, a candidate must represent an association. After being appointed, he can continue though without a post (in a sports association)," he told Bernama here today.

In the OCM election on May 26, Ibrahim was nominated on the FAM secretary general ticket and won uncontested for one of the council's vice presidential posts.

The other OCM vice presidents are W. Y. Chin, Prof Datuk Zakaria Ahmad, Datuk Roy Rajasingham and Low Beng Choo.
