KUALA LUMPUR, July 26 (Bernama) -- Starting next year the National
Sports Institute (ISN) is expected to issue statements for medical cost
incurred by athletes who have received treatment and sport science
service at the institute.
ISN executive director Datuk Dr Ramlan Abdul Aziz said it would be introduced to create awareness among the athletes to appreciate the expenses borne by the government for their treatment through the ISN.
He said athletes are not required to make any payment because the medical and sport science service costs are provided free to all elite and backup athletes.
"We will issue the medical statements to the athletes for them to appreciate their medicines and supplements provided," he told Bernama.
Dr Ramlan said ISN were always aware of the needs of athletes to ensure that they are capable and ready to represent the country.
